At Murrant Family Funeral Services, each team member plays a crucial role in ensuring that your loved one’s farewell is a meaningful and dignified tribute. We invite you to get to know our team better through their bios, where you’ll discover the passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment that drives us to serve our community with care and compassion.

Michael Murrant – Director and Civil Celebrant

Michael Murrant Funeral director and civil celebrant

Michael has a long history within the ambulance service and, in 2006, decided to open Murrant Family Funeral Services with his wife Lynn after seeing a need within the Martham area and the surrounding villages.

Michael has extensive knowledge of the funeral industry and is able to offer guidance and support to families both in our branches and in their own homes, as well as being available to conduct funerals.

Michael became a qualified civil celebrant in 2014 and, as such, is able to offer a personalised funeral service with full support in the lead-up, with funerals taking place both at our branch on Northgate Street in Great Yarmouth and at local crematoriums.

Lynn Murrant – Director

Lynn has a background in management and has been involved in the business along with her husband, Michael, from the beginning. As the driving force behind caring for families in the way we would wish to be cared for, she maintains a strong role in both our branches, assisting families throughout the funeral arranging process and conducting funerals.

Lynn is available to see families in our branches and in their homes for all funeral arrangements.

Lynn Murrant - Director

Lynn also runs our ‘Solo group’. We meet once a month and are a group of people who have all experienced bereavement in some form. The group is designed to offer support and friendship to those who know how it feels to lose a loved one.

Lynn takes care of all financial administration for the business and follows up with families after all of our services to maintain our ethos of continued support and care for everyone we assist.

Lola – Bereavement Dog

Mike and Lynn with Lola our bereavement support dog

Lola is a Jack Russell cross who belongs to Michael and Lynn. She can sit with families in our branches, arranging funerals to offer comfort and cuddles. If you’re lucky, she may even do her circus trick of begging!

Lola spends much of her time curled up snoozing but is still up for a ball being thrown for her when the opportunity arises!
